Caring Community Cuisine’s mission is to provide family nutrition and human interaction to help those battling cancer.
How do we do this? With three pillars of our program:
Food:
1. Meal delivery (providing nutritious foods and comfort foods to warriors and their families) This service is provided at no cost to the family and is geared toward alleviating some financial and emotional burden so the patient can focus on becoming well
2. Pay If Forward dining at the Cafe (Dine at our 2 Pier Road location with all money spent supporting our mission)
Education:
1. Nutritional and dietary guidance provided by experts in each prospective field.
2. Ingredient education (where food comes from, and health benefits associated with each item)
3. Cooking classes with goals of demonstrating techniques, recipes and versatility of ingredients so anyone can cook
Community
1. Fundraising dinners
2. Special events to bring humans together (tea making classes, field professional discussions, paint nights, physical activities)
3. Space for weekly group gatherings as well as private events
Who:
Jonathan Cartwright, Selena Roy, and Ben Fraser have all been affected by cancer as many of us have. They noticed the need for nutrition and food care specifically for this disease. Luckily, they had the hospitality knowledge and means to produce CCC’s services.
Why:
Simply… “We can’t cure cancel, but we can cook”.
